The Game
Matches are played on a 12' by 12' field. Two Alliances – one “red” and one “blue” – composed of two teams each, compete in each Match. The object of the game is to attain a higher score than the opposing Alliance by Scoring your 4" balls and 4" bonus balls, in the low and high goals. Green balls are worth 1 point in a low goal, and 5 points in a high goal, while orange bonus balls are worth 2 points in a low goal, and 10 in a high goal.
Furthermore, if a robot is elevated completely +4" off the ground at the end of a match, 25-points are awarded. If a robot is completely elevated above the walls of the field, a 50-point is awarded. A 10-point bonus is awarded to the Alliance that has the most total points at the end of the Autonomous Period.
There are a total of ninety-four (94) green balls, and ten (10) orange, bonus balls in a VEX Nothing But Net Match. Each Robot will have four (4) green balls available as a pre-load and twenty-four (24) green balls off to the side to be available for loading during the driver control period. Two (2) nets will start at designated corners on the field. There are ten (10) orange, bonus balls, and twenty-seven (27) green balls around the field at designated locations.
